As an independent mobile vet with a breadth of knowledge and experience, Dr Francois du Plessis MRCVS, aims to provide you and your animal with the highest standard of convenient and personalised care. A truly mobile service has the benefit of eliminating all the problems associated with transporting your pet to a surgery, when he/she may be unwell or dislike travelling in the car. There is no long wait in a crowded waiting room, and in behavioural cases, it is of a huge benefit for us to be able to see your pet in their own home to address these issues.
We offer routine at home consultations for a variety of conditions, for any queries, please call.
Our interests and experience with working dogs and reproduction is particularly useful for clients, as we offer a unique understanding of their needs. We provide range of practical and tailored veterinary advice, as well as specific working dog and reproductive services.
If the time has come for you to say goodbye to your pet, we offer a compassionate and peaceful at-home service, giving you the time you need, in the environment where you and your pet feels most comfortable during that very difficult time.
In patients with behavioural concerns, it is of a huge benefit for your pet to be seen in their own home to fully assess address these issues. The behavioural consultation will involve a full clinical examination, observation of their behaviour, and offer means of treatment.
The Countryside Vet is fully registered and approved with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) and Veterinary Medicine Directorate (VMD) to provide veterinary services. We are also fully insured.
As a single-handed vet offering a mobile service, there may be some circumstances where we are unable to provide you with the number of services/facilities that are typically available at a full-service practice. As such, we have partnered with The Lighthouse 24/7 A&E Pet Hospital (01243 765 247) who will provide the facilities and equipment that your pet may need 24/7 (for example surgery, hospitalisation, diagnostic imaging, etc) if/when your animal requires more than the ‘at home’ care we can provide, or if we are unable to meet your pets needs in a time-appropriate manner in urgent situations. You are still however welcome to also be registered with any primary care ‘bricks and mortar’ practice of your choosing.
